An important Van Cleef & Arpels onyx and diamond Leopard brooch mounted in 18ct gold. French. Circa 1970. Signed and numbered and marked with French makers mark P&Fils for Maison Pery. Modelled as a naturalistic Leopard lying on a golden branch set throughout with round onyx and diamonds and finished with emerald eyes and a black enamel nose. Fitted with a classic double clip fitting and comprehensive safety catch. Total diamond weight approximately 5cts. Total onyx weight approximately 1.50cts. Total emerald weight 0.06cts. Measurements 80mm by 55mm.
Pery Fils workshop were one of the premier Parisian workshops working for Van Cleef and Arpels during this period.
